About Mary Pirela
Mary Pirela is from
Maracaibo, Venezuela. She has
always loved dancing and
participated in several dancing
performances at school.
In 1997, she enrolled
in Tatiana Reyna's Flamenco Academy,
where she danced for 2 years. In
1998, she participated in a workshop
called Movement and Healing
with Berti Klein (Movement
Mentor in Integration of Body, Mind,
Emotions and Spirit).
In Minnesota, she
used to dance with Fuego Latino
Dancers, a Colombian folkloric dance
group that has performed in several
events such as Festival of Nations,
5 de Mayo Celebrations, Hispanic
Heritage month festivities and
others.
After searching for a
fun and easy way to do aerobics she
found Zumba® and decided to become a
Certified Zumba® Instructor,
combining dancing and workout with
unique moves and combinations that
allow Zumba® participants to dance
away their worries.
She has
been teaching Zumba® for about five
years now and people love her class
and the passion and energy that she
puts in every class.
Currently, Mary is married and has a
two years old daughter and is
expecting her second child by May
2010. Mary is combining her
passion for Zumba®
with her full time job as stay home
mom. She is AFAA
and ACE certified. From October 2006 to
March 2009, Mary worked for Zumba®
Fitness as Zumba Educational
Specialist (ZES). During that period
of time she trained
over 150 new ZUMBA®
instructors in Minnesota, North
Dakota, South Dakota and Montana.
